After almost 20 years of tattooing, I’m proud to be the owner of my own private tattoo and art studio. Located in historic downtown San Diego, California, Balancing Act Tattoo Craft is my place in the universe to create and make great tattoos.
I’ve made a reputation of being a color-illustrative tattoo artist. I take pride in fully saturated, colorful, custom color tattoos. Pet portraits, flowers and imaginary creatures from far off worlds are some of my favorite things to draw and tattoo. Tattoo cover ups are also a specialty of mine. I work best when a client allows me the artistic freedom with the positioning, design flow, etc. Too many restrictions for your future tattoo may hinder the creativity to turn it into a masterpiece!
There hasn’t been a day where art has not been prevalent in my life. I recognize that I am beyond lucky to be able to do what I love for a career and continue to bring custom color tattoos and artwork into the world. I look forward to tattooing you at Balancing Act Tattoo Craft!
SETTING AN APPOINTMENT:
First, I prefer to have you contact me via email to set up a consultation. Include your name, phone number, tattoo ideas, and if you’re traveling in with specific dates. Please feel free to send your favorite reference photos. My assistant will then set you up with a phone consultation at your earliest convenience. During your consultation, we’ll discuss your ideas, designs, placement, etc. I require a non-refundable deposit in the amount of $200 when setting up your actual tattoo appointment. This deposit will be applied to your last appointment (if you require more than one session).
RATES:
My current hourly rate is $200 an hour for original pieces and $250 an hour for cover-ups or restoration. Most appointments typically fall in a 3-4 hour block or an all day slot of 6-8 hours. This is what I choose to do for pieces that will require multiple sessions to get as much accomplished as we can during your sitting.
CANCELLATIONS AND RESCHEDULING:
The deposit will be absorbed if you cancel or reschedule 48 hours before your appointment. Another deposit of $200 will be required to reschedule your next appointment.
COVER-UPS AND RESTORATIONS:
There’s no denying that cover-ups have become a large portion of my tattoo career. I feel fulfilled knowing that I have made past clients happy with giving them new pieces that came from old tattoos that they were unsatisfied with. With that said, some tattoos are more difficult to cover or restore and may require laser work. I will determine if you need any laser treatments by the photos you send and what we discuss during your phone consultation. Please understand if I respectfully decline to finish another tattoo artists’ work. I work closely with Absolute Laser Tattoo Removal and would recommend a free consultation with them. They will only need to treat you a few sessions before I’m able to do your cover-up. Absolutetatremoval.com
DISCLAIMER:
I prefer to leave certain styles of tattooing to other artists that specialize in that area of work. With that said- black and grey photorealism, sacred geometry, script lettering, and tribal are all styles that I could direct you to an artist that would be more fitting for your needs.
PAYMENT:
I accept cash, credit, debit. Checks not accepted.
YOUR EXPERIENCE:
Before your tattoo, I highly recommend that you eat a full meal beforehand and bring a snack for after. I welcome you to bring a book to read or movies to watch(with headphones).
Thank you for your interest in my art! I look forward to creating your colorful ideas and turning them into reality.
